Know anything about boxing gloves?

I need to get DD (12) some boxing gloves. The guy at the club said I could buy from him, or get some cheaper ones from Decathlon. She's only likely to go for 10 lessons, so I don't need to get her expensive ones! Only thing is there seem to be loads on the decathlon website and I've no idea what size or type she needs. She won't be fighting other kids, they punch the bag and e.g. one holds their hand up and the other punches into it. What should I go for? She's supposed to have some before next week.

I have 14oz gloves for doing heavy duty pad work - I'd say 6-8oz gloves for a 12 year old doing bag work.

Sports direct are were I got mine, I had to try a few pairs on before I got a pair that felt right and had a wrist guard in them to stop me breaking my wrist should I punch land wrong.

I think they were about 30 quid, but they did have kids ones that were cheaper.

If you are near to one of their stores take your DD with you to try them on.

Thank you! Unfortunately I can't get her to a shop this weekend has she has a prior commitment so I've ordered the size you recommended and hope they will fit.
