Follow up after interview

I’ll start by saying patience is not my virtue…

I had an interview on Monday for a job I really, really want. Advised that would hear soon as they are keen to move quickly.

short of watching my phone and refreshing my email every 5 mins…. Is there any advice on what to do.

sit tight or do I follow up and say really keen on role/enjoyed interview.

arghhhh!

I would personally just leave it be, unless it's the standard in your industry for a follow up to be sent. I know when I've been on interview panels, we couldn't take into account anything other than the CV/interview performance. Candidates would not likely have even had most of our emails. It might have annoyed me more than anything that someone was pestering me for a decision. We try to move as quickly as we can, but the HR apparatus is slow. I think an initial email right after the interview is fine (if that's what you'd normally do), but at this point, I think it would just be more come across as impatient, so I would probably just leave it be. Did they tell you when to expect a decision?

If it's just an HR person you are contacting, not anyone actually making the decision, you could email them just to ask when they'd expect a decision to be made - as they are just the middleman and won't be as annoyed to be pestered. Otherwise, I'd just leave it. Good luck with the job though!

Thanks for the reply. I have sat on my hands from making contact thus far!

any thoughts on how could work a friendly nudge to HR?
