Babysitting rates in Suffolk area

Can I ask what you pay a babysitter in Suffolk? Been given a hourly rate by someone that sounds excessive to me, but just want to check.

Last babysitter we had was £12 an hour, this new person wants £25 an hour. Is that ridiculous, or do I know nothing

Depends really. Are they qualified, insured, through a business or a teenager making cash?
Also depends where in Suffolk. Be a huge price difference from somewhere like Lowestoft to Southwold

They are dbs checked as they work at my sons old nursery. It's Ipswich.
