Hi,

i’ve been made aware that somebody I know might of taken speeding points for their partner. apparently he already had quite a few points so she has taken three points to avoid him getting a ban. Is this not a major offence? I feel like I need to report it. WWYD?

I'd report. People get points because they are dangerous drivers. This person sounds like they are a massive risk the road if they have that many bloody points already. They should be banned before they kill someone and if that requires reporting them to the police/other authorities, I would do it in a heart beat.

Likewise.

Dangerous drivers need to be removed from the roads.

I would think it has anything to do with me OP.

You don’t know the circumstances around the previous points and driving could be his lively hood. There are traffic cameras all over where I live and most streets are 20, it’s incredibly easy to accidentally go over when the roads are busy.

If driving is his livelihood then he should know better than to repeatedly break the law.

Maddy70 · 24/04/2024 17:25

What will you gain by it? The fine has been paid and someone has points it really isn't any of your business and they will know its come from from you

Not really. You don't get points for doing 22 in a 20, do you?

If you do get them repeatedly, then you're cunt and bad driver and shouldn't be on the roads. Roads are dangerous enough as it is these days without more cunts on them.

No, but you get them for going at 23. Or 34 in a 30. Calling everyone cunts is also overly dramatic.

Lampslights · 24/04/2024 17:35

You don’t even know if it’s true do you op? You just heard some gossip . That’s why you said apparently on the partner.

so is it a woman you don’t like?

call the police and tell them you heard. Then come back and tell us how that went for you…

also will you be giving your real name and number, or also committing fraud and giving a fake one….

TeaKitten · 24/04/2024 17:35

So you’ve heard second or third hand that someone MIGHT have done something that doesn’t impact you at all. Just mind your own business.

It's not exactly hard to do the speed limit though, is it?

You have to be pretty stupid to repeatedly be caught doing that much over the speed limit...

newnamethanks · 24/04/2024 18:13

Seems unnecessarily vicious OP. I believe you would have to provide evidence to the authorities. Can you do that? Tittle tattle, she said, he said, isn't evidence. It's gossip.

35andThriving · 24/04/2024 22:59

Do you have any evidence?

I know this sounds weird, but I can imagine a relative of mine just making up a lie like this when really she is just making shit up to stir trouble.

Do you know this is the actual truth?

You can do four times and be at the limit in just under 3 years, max 4 times, you don’t know how many points this man has, like the op .it could be six, so twice in 3 years. Or 3 times. But no you don’t need to do it often, or be far over to have lots of points.

kittycloud · 25/04/2024 06:47

Mind your own bloody business!

Tarteline843 · 25/04/2024 06:52

Wouldn’t report if info comes via someone else and “might” is operative word.

If I knew it directly myself as a fact then still would take some persuading to report but would maybe speak to the person about it directly.

Damnloginpopup · 25/04/2024 07:18

Might have, not might of.

Keep your nose out of other people's business you malicious little snake.

Agree- disgusting, ignorant and unnecessary!

Unopenedpackofmenssocks · 25/04/2024 14:24

Who are you going to report it to? I can’t really believe any authority has the resources to investigate this unless the person was Angela Rayner or similar…

I agree it’s terrible and the person should be punished but I am a realist. You’ll just come across like a busybody with a grudge.

ButterCrackers · 25/04/2024 14:26

Report your concerns. If it is the case then you will have helped remove a dangerous driver from the roads.

You wouldn’t say that if a speeding driver killed a member of your family. If what the OP says turns out to be true, then one more dangerous idiot has been taken off the road.

Really? That's like saying I wouldn't smoke if I knew someone who'd died of cancer FFS.

Family no, friend yes. Is that enough to appease your sanctimony?

A relative who died of smoking related causes has often been the incentive for giving it up!
