Endless something afternoons (poem)

A poem popped into my head today and I’m going to be super helpful. I don’t know who it’s by and I can’t remember anything about it apart from a line that went something like ‘endless something afternoons’

I know that’s not a lot to go on but just on the off chance anyone knows it - would be so grateful!

Endless dogday afternoons? That's what came to mind. Off to google now to see if I'm right!

Nope...not that. Not sure how I got that phrase in my head, didn't even know what a dogday was until I just googled it. Hope you find out OP!

Could it be a song lyric? Richey Manic was definitely riffing on Larkin with the line, ‘These sunless afternoons, I can’t find myself.’ in the song, ‘Yes’.

Not the song Sunny Afternoon by the Kinks? The line "on this sunny afternoon" sounds a bit like "endless sunny afternoons" because of the drawn out "on"!

Or TS Eliot, with the feel of endless afternoons but not the exact words:

'Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons, I have measured out my life in coffee spoons.'
