How long would you wait before following up?

I have been offered a new job.

I applied via indeed.

The interview was arranged via text.

The job offer came through via indeed saying if I accepted they would send through contract.

I have responded saying I would accept, on Friday. This is all via indeed.

I haven't had any response to my indeed message, and it says last active 5 days ago.

Am I best to send a follow up message via text or via the company email now or is it too early?

Thank you

Did you discuss a start date in your interview or other conversations? In my industry, contracts can easily take 2 months or more. I've actually started jobs without a formal contract in place before because it was stuck somewhere in the ether and I needed to get going on the work/being paid. I would say that 2 business days (Monday/Tuesday) since acceptance is very, very little time for contracts to be drawn up.

It's a bit odd for an employer to be communicating via text and not email, but I would follow up via text to clarify proposed start date and ask when you can expect to receive the contract and then make sure they have your direct email (not via Indeed) so it can be sent through there.

There was no discussion around start date, it's a tiny employer with only one practice and about 25 employees!

The indeed message said TBC on start date.

I thought it was very different about texting to arrange a job interview.

I was just nervous as I know things on indeed can get missed, so wondered about texting the person and as you say giving correct email etc.

Seems strange the company went via linked in rather than being in direct contact with you

but it’s been a while since I applied on indeed but I’ve always spoken directly to companies not used indeed as a third party

Has no one called you to discuss the job offer? Confirm next steps?

I would contact the person who did your interview just to confirm they have your details and what will happen next

Thank you all, will send a text message, with my email in and hopefully will get a response.
