Both Dd and Dh applied last month and got their new passport in less than 2 weeks.
They were simple adult renewals online

AbbeFausseMaigre · 23/04/2024 08:46

Children's renewals x 3, came back in just over a week.

ShinyEspeon · 23/04/2024 08:48

Applied for my son's first one on 27th March, it's supposed to be arriving today. They had to make a few requests for extra documents in that time as well. I'm pleasantly surprised!

website says 3 weeks at the moment, so fingers crossed it’ll be as quick as you guys!
going away end of May, mine is a straightforward renewal so hoping it doesn’t take too long x

Mine was an adult renewal with name change (marriage). It was about a week for it to come back.

flipent · 23/04/2024 09:25

Adult renewal, got it back 4 days after they received my old passport (8 days after application). They won't do much until they have your previous one, so be ready to send that because it will impact the time.

This was last week.

I'd be really surprised if you don't get it back in plenty of time for an end of May trip.

SalviaDivinorum · 23/04/2024 10:45

I applied for mine the day before the price went up. It took a week to get the replacement. It was confirmed as approved within 48 hours of submission on the day they got my old one back in the post

Was so quick when I got mine a couple of months ago .Regular texts to update and received it within a couple of weeks .Did it online
Tip for anyone use a photo booth which is for passports. Then you link the number on your photo to your application so no need to send photo off .

I took the kids' passport photos against a plain wall at home with my not particularly great smartphone. They are automatically checked and cropped when you upload them so you know that they are likely to be accepted.

great news - had email about 8ish last night, passport has been approved and printed. Text message this morning Today to say it has been sent to their delivery people!
1 week turnaround, can’t fault that at all. Not had it yet but so far so good x

Great news!

Although I hope no one from the civil service sees this and decides that the passport office is clearly over staffed! 😂
