Best travel pass for Manchester student

Can anyone advise on the best value pass for student travel in Manchester. We are from London so not familiar with whether we should be getting a Bee pass / One pass or what we should be looking at? Daily travel from Fallowfield area into central Manch and then various busses across weekend for social and p/t job

Thank you

At the moment, buses in Manchester are in transition from the major companies to the Bee network, so it's all a bit chaotic on the websites.

The pass with the most coverage is the 'Bee Any Bus' which is effectively the SystemOne card but with a new name/app. This would allow you take any bus in Manchester. As a young person, it's about £60 a month (or 15 days of return journeys at £2 each way if you want to think about it like that), so it does work out cheaper than pay as you go.

The alternative is to use one of the individual bus company's multi day tickets (e.g. Stagecoach/Magic Bus would be your main company going through Fallowfield), but they are generally not much cheaper than a SystemOne card. Also you'd be limited to that company.

There's an even more limited offering from stagecoach called a UniRider, you buy it on a term by term basis, and it limits you to specific bus routes around the university. This wouldn't be much use really if you want to pop out and see a mate who lives in the wrong bit of the city. https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/manchester/unirider

Student Bus Pass Manchester | UniRider Tickets | Stagecoach | Magic Bus

Are you a student? Travel for a lot less with a Stagecoach Manchester student bus pass. Travel as much as you want, whenever you want!

Thanks very much @kittykarate - Bee thing sounds like best option - I"ll tell DD to look into that. It seemed a bit of a minefield when I flippantly said I'd look into it for her...
