Anyone else finding that US spam is killing their FB feed?

I don’t use FB for much but groups but I am in a few local ones that I have found useful for information and buying/selling. In the last few weeks though they all seem to have been infiltrated by endless US spam about ‘this dog was found in LOCATION - please share’ or ‘this 14 year old from LOCATION is missing and her parents are out of their minds’ etc. Accompanied by photos that are very much not of my local area. The more convincing ones get people sharing and commenting on them. It’s basically killed any algorithm that ever showed me useful things. Helpful maybe in being the thing that finally makes me leave FB properly but it’s a shame to lose the good bits of those groups.

Mines not full of this, but is full of ‘recommended for you’ and it’s just stupid memes and pictures. I have no idea why it thinks I would like this stuff!

There have been a couple but the group admins seem to delete them pretty quickly.

Now if they’d just ban the local knobhead who thinks he’s a comedian that would be a distinct improvement…

I would think it was just poor admin but it’s several groups. I agree that at least it’s knocked the crap posters out of my feed!

I keep getting lizard groups. I'm not and never have been remotely interested in lizards. I hide them properly and they stop for a few days and then it's... More lizards.

Like really, take the hint. Like the algorithm has a mind of it's own atm.

My one is local yarn shops. I like a local yarn shop but not if it’s in Arizona.
