Smoothies that are actually nice?

I've never had a smoothie that I enjoyed, plenty that I like the sound of but they just don't taste nice Confused They only ever seem to taste of blended up food. Why's it so popular? Am I doing it wrong? I have a smoothie blender but so far it's only ever been used for milkshakes and frappés 🤣

doesn’t sound like you like smoothies

no biggie!

Maybe you just don’t like them? Eat a piece of fruit. Or try juicing? I like pineapple juice or carrot juice.

Maybe you're right, some of them just sound so nice though, but they're not and it annoys me.

What sort have you tried? My favourites are something like a small pot of strawberry kefir, half a banana, a few oats, chia seeds and some fruit like strawberries, raspberries or blueberries.

My fave green smoothie (done in a nutri bullet, but you can change measurements accordingly,)
Fill half with spinach. Half a banana. Handful of pineapple, handful of mango.
I like alot of water so its more like a drink than a sludge like concoction!
Always enjoy this one.
But.. if smoothies aren't for you, I wouldn't force it!

If you like bananas - frozen bananas really improve the texture. I just chuck loads of healthy stuff in mine, organic protein powder, abit of honey, fruit and veg. I think I found the recipe on tiktok and there were loads!

Is there a common ingredient you don't like?

I don't like any with bananas in - which rules out a lot! But I like anything with red berries or tropical fruit

Unless you add gin or rum - in which case all acceptable 🍹

What are you expecting them to taste of? It tastes like "blended up food" because that's what it is.

(I quite like chocolate, peanut butter and banana in milk with a scoop of ice cream -but it's not very good for me)
