Can't find a topic that suits this so putting it here.
I'm interested in learning to make games, I'm more front end at the moment, 3d assets, graphics, texturing, environments etc with very very limited coding (I spent a few days on python a couple of years ago) obviously they would be very simple to have a hope of completing them, but I'm partially doing it as a vehicle to learning a new skill.
I have been reading about unity and unreal. Unreal seems like an easier interface with it's node system but more suitable for larger scale games then mine. Unity apparently better for beginners but more coding. Can anyone advise? The games I have in mind would be fairly retro style in isometric view, open world, rpg type.
