I stupidly had an extra coffee much later in the day than I'm used to. I know my limits and feel very foolish.

I've now gone to bed to try and sleep it off but feel wide awake !

Anyone have any tips on how I can get to sleep even though I feel very alert at the moment.

The One Two Method.

It's so dull you'll fall asleep to stop it. When you breathe in count one, breathe out count two.

Or, if you're me you'll become too aware of your breathing, start to wonder if you're breathing right, try not to be conscious of it, still be conscious of it, give up, get a snack, and then watch 100 episodes of crap TV before falling asleep just before you have to wake up.

magnesium helps me sleep. If you have magnesium supplements, or any kind of very green veggies, like kale, that might help.

Sorry to hear this happened. I haven't had caffeine for years, but the last time I did it was an accident and I did not enjoy it. I hope it wears off soon for you.

Not much advice but sympathy, if I have anything caffeinated after about 2 I’m struggling, I struggle with sleep generally though. I’d suggest coming off your phone and listening to a podcast or audiobook, if I’m struggling to sleep sometimes my own brain is the biggest problem and listening to something distracts me from it.

I can't watch Midsomer Murders without falling asleep! 😆
