Sorry, I’ve heard people living there refer to the country with both names recently, so not sure which is correct.
Im looking to buy something around €36 euros to be posted to the U.K. How does this work as they are asking me to fill in a giant VAT form basically wanting my solicitor name/DOB/place of birth etc just to post it to the U.K. where I know I will have to pay any import charges this side. Usually I just buy from ETSY and this stuff magically happens. Is this a normal thing post Brexit, or are they really not getting that I’m not an import/export firm?

I won’t be filling in my life details, so looking for how to buy what is basically a tourist souvenir!

Posting from anywhere in Europe to the UK is now a pain in the ass because of Brexit. Not worth posting a small/cheap thing to be honest, the taxes and shipping will cost a lot more. You can use a courier if the post office option is not for you.

Thanks, I appreciated the postage and import stuff would cost me way more than the item, but it has a sentimental value to me. I just don’t want to have to give that level of information, and I don’t have a legal representative to put their details in on a form! If you lived there and wanted to post something to someone in the U.K. as a relative how does that work?
