DS9 diet

Does anyone have a child who is fussy about texture?

He is 9 and won’t eat any fruit or vegetables with a skin on. Only boiled carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. That’s good I know. Sometimes but not very often he’ll have a bit of watermelon or baby sweetcorn. Doesn’t like chicken as ‘it’s too chewy’ so only wants it in breadcrumbs. Won’t eat dried fruit. Will have smoothies and loves pasta sauce.

He also hates the feeling of soap suds/shampoo. I bought him a bar of shampoo soap which he still doesn’t like.

He did eat about 3 peas once at his cousins house but he’s flat out refused them since then.

I don’t know if I need to see a dietician about these issues?

On a sidenote, he’s very active and is a light sleeper.

Meal planning is hard as his brother eats a wide variety of fruit and veg but hates eggs and cheese!

He just wants cereal and toast for breakfast all the time (he might have pancakes as well) but I am trying to get a bit more protein into him earlier in the day to keep him fuller for longer because he gets hangry very quickly. We gave him eggs on toast today (he normally refuses hot food in the morning) and we talked about how he needs some protein to help him be strong to play his sport now he’s a big boy x
