What Do You Pay, If Anything, For A Car Valet?

I only get mine done every few months as the guy I use ( ex neighbour) has put his prices up. It’s £45 for the basic which includes wash, wax & vacuum. I just asked how much it would be to shampoo the seats as well & it’s £90 in total, which seems a lot. I guess £45 is on the steep side, although he is brilliant & makes my car look like new. He comes to me. Does the price seem reasonable, considering the cost of living? How does it compare with what you guys might pay?

I have never had my car valeted.

It gets a £4:50 run through the car wash every few months if it’s lucky

I've had mine done a few times by It was £60 but leather seats so no shampooing involved. I'm in the north so it might be more expensive in the south.

I'm in Somerset and recently asked on Facebook for quotes for our Ford Kuga. The cheapest quote I got was £120

RabbitsRock · 19/04/2024 09:33

Lanawashington what did that include?

SUV washed and dried, hoovered inc seats, all fascia dusted, windows cleaned inside. £20

Its a cheaper area I go to regularly - would be ££ where I am now

North West based - it's £40 for a basic valet of a standard car, more if you want extras (e.g wet shampoo on seats or cleaning under the bonnet etc). Or we do the full valet which is £80 for a standard car and includes the shampooing + loads of extras. They come to us and do a fantastic job, do all the cars around monthly.
