Carers Allowance advice

i get high rate dla for my child. My mum is going to claim carers allowance as she does the childcare full time for my son and cares for him and meets his additional needs whilst I go to work full time. However my dad (who my mother is married to and lives with) works full time on a good wage. Will my mum be eligible? She doesn’t work.

Yes that's fine. I get carers allowance for DS and it doesn't take DH's salary into account at all, just mine. And it's fine for your mum to claim if she doesn't live with your DS, as long as she cares for over 35 hours pw.

Thankyou! Yes she does everything tbf. We applied earlier and we paused the application because it was asking my father’s National insurance number and whether they’re married that’s why we were confused. Did it ask you those details on your application?
