We went on holiday last week and DD developed this rash. I thought it was probably heat rash. We have been back home for 4 days and it’s still there.

could this still be heat rash or would it have gone by now?

So she’s had the rash for 10 days now.

any other symptoms?

LemonAiden · 18/04/2024 20:01

No other symptoms. Was mildly itchy whilst we were away. It is bumpy to touch and maybe feels a little dry.

Has she been in pond/lake water? One of mine had something similar- apparently from the plants in the water.

She paddled in the sea.

Is it getting any worse?

LemonAiden · 18/04/2024 20:04

I don’t think it’s getting worse, but maybe slightly. It hasn’t got any better.

I thought it looked a bit like the early stages of scarlet fever rash (I had it a few years ago) but if it's not getting worse in 10 days and no other symptoms that's pretty unlikely I think.

Maybe a reaction to suncream or something that's caused an eczema type reaction?

LemonAiden · 18/04/2024 20:17

I suppose that’s possible. Are we thinking heat rash would be gone by now?

assuming it’s pretty raised? When I was in my early 20’s(now mid 30’s) I developed a rash that would come up in the sun, but not heat rash- basically a bit of an allergy to sunlight. If I have antihistamines it’s pretty under control but I will basically get the bumps but not the burning/itching. If I don’t I really flare up and it can take weeks to go down. It sort of reminds me of that
