Feeling slight crackle when breathing

I don't know if I am being daft. I had a chest infection about two weeks ago, kept in hospital for a week on IV fluids, nebulisers. Discharged with steroids and a blue inhaler.

Steroids mostly cleared my chest however today I can hear a slight crackle again. I've taken the blue inhaler 2 puffs about 24 hours, 2 puffs before bed at 11pm, 2 puffs 9am this morning and 3 in the last hour.

Hospital did a chest x ray and CT scan and said no pneumonia, just a bit of a chest infection. GP said very tight and wheezy.

I don't know if I'm getting myself anxious over nothing. I keep remembering having been in hospital feeling unable to breathe, which started off as just a bit of crackling in my chest, and I'm terrified the same thing is going to happen again. Can feel a slight/hear crackle when I breathe but only if I sit in silence. I'm not coughing, can stand up and move etc. Nose does feel clogged up. I'm at a relative's; they have 3 dogs and cousin also smokes (outdoors only).

Should be OK to just see how it goes shouldn't it?

(To get medical help here would be hard - family live in the sticks, and are more likely to tell me its anxiety!)

Hi OP.,When did the hospital do the chest x-ray?
Have they ruled out pleurisy?

They did yeah, I’ve had pleurisy before and it’s definitely not that.

I've just had a huge run of heart palpitations. Now panicking.

Blue inhalers can cause heart palpitations so dont panic about those

Call 111 for the crackle? You might need more antibiotics or the blue inhaler alone might not be sufficient and you might need steroids/steroid inhaler

Can they? I haven’t had palpitations in ages and must have had about 15 ectopics in a row. I didn’t black out or anything but I’m terrified of them.

They can definitely cause palpitations

That said if you are calling 111/seaking medical advice absolutely mention them, I just mentioned it so you dont panic in the moment
