Its the longest day, the height of summer and it will then just get darker. I've still got my winter duvet on and the weather is just shit 😒

Don't you mean 9 weeks tomorrow it's mid-summers day? The clocks don't go back until 3rd weekend in October.

Umbongowasyuk · 18/04/2024 16:29

Yes I've just edited my post!! Its shit though

I know I'm in the minority but I love it when the clocks go back. I do hope we have a decent summer this year though. The fact we had an awful summer last year hasn't helped 😔

Umbongowasyuk · 18/04/2024 16:54

@PenelopeTitsdrop1990. I don't mind the clocks going back in Autumn but it's spring and I'm bloody freezing, it's pouring with rain and I just want to have a bit of warmth

I thought this was going to be a pregnancy thread 😂
But agree I still have my winter duvet and fleece bedding on and sty have the heating on

FlamingoFlamboyance · 18/04/2024 17:02

The constant cold and rain makes me so depressed, I'm freezing all the time and can't go anywhere without getting rained or hailed on at the moment. It's crap.

But soon there will be a lot of people along saying that they hate the heat, this weather is ideal for them, etc.

The weather is cold and damp most of the bloody year in this country, I think we should be allowed our 2 weeks (hopefully) of warmth!

YorkieTheRabbit · 18/04/2024 17:08

We had a frost this morning.
It’s now chucking it down, windy and 7 degrees.
Heating on, winter duvet still on.

It’s more or less rained since October, we’d had the average amount of rain for April in the first week.

Frost? Are you wayyy north may I ask? We're meant to have our last frost this Saturday but I'm not convinced and that worries me as a gardener. Started my tomatoes indoors a bit too early and now they taller than me!

I’m one of those people who hates the heat (in my defence it’s because of illness as it makes me poorly), but even I am thinking this weather is utterly ridiculous.

I managed to sit out in the garden (wrapped up) with a cuppa for half an hour earlier before it became too windy. Now it’s absolutely peeing it down.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/04/2024 17:21

Although that's 'midsummers day', there's generally a lag in temperature - 9 weeks after that is still only in august and there's often still plenty of warm weather to come.

Umbongowasyuk · 18/04/2024 18:28

I hope we get at least a few nice weeks.

Technically June 21st (ish) is the start of summer and it runs until September 21st. Plenty of opportunities for warm weather to come!
