Stupid question about local elections

I feel like a real thickie asking this but I'm confused!

There are local elections in may but presumably there will be a GE this year. Does this mean that the councillor elected in may could potentially be out again in eg November?

I've moved into an area where the Tory councillor is clearly very good but I do not want to give the conservatives any vote if it effects the next parliament /GE

Hope that makes sense!

I'm pretty sure they're totally independent of each other.

No. They are completely different elections. These ones are for the local council.
If there is a General Election soon, it will be to elect MPs to Westminster. Completely unconnected.

Thank you this is what I thought but I was really second guessing
