Yes I know it’s not healthy, it’s not a real meal and all that blah blah blah from the uptight foodies but for me, it was a quick easy meal every now and then.

It tastes vile. Like chemicals. I thought it was just me but my dh who eats anything and is like a gannet, took a bite and threw up.

Whhhhhhhhhy?

Cannot get the taste out of my mouth. Ugh

shellyleppard · 16/04/2024 18:07

Thanks I'll definitely avoid them now.... sigh

Beef and tomato but I would guess no flavour is safe

Nooooo. That’s the best one.

SevenSeasOfRhye · 16/04/2024 18:13

I hope they don't mess with the Bad Boy!

shellyleppard · 16/04/2024 18:16

Beef and tomato was my favourite 😔😔

UnravellingTheWorld · 16/04/2024 18:18

Probably for the best. I'm banned from eating them because husband doesn't like my breath afterwards

OperationalSupport · 16/04/2024 18:19

Nissin Soba noodles are way nicer. I highly recommend them.

Usernamewassavedsuccessfully · 16/04/2024 18:23

My favourite was the Chow Mein. Also grim now (I'm sure some would say it always was...). Ribena fell ages ago, I gave up on crispy pancakes, now Pot Noodles. It's like my childhood is being dismantled piece by additive laden piece.

Datafan55 · 16/04/2024 18:25

I had some recently and was really ill. Repeating on me and an upset stomach for two days. I thought they were off, but wondering now...

the80sweregreat · 16/04/2024 18:45

I never liked them , but the kids used to like super noodles in the packets for a quick tea some times. They have probably been messed around with too.
I agree that many foods are just vile these days especially chocolate.

Soubriquet · 16/04/2024 19:00

It sucks

Chicken and mushroom pot noodles are still nice. However in the 00s they used to have bits of soya fake chicken in them (the overall pot noodle was vegetarian though) which they now don't have.

Yes! I really miss the soya pieces. They were the best.

I agree with Soba noodles too. I can literally devour them.
Buldak are very nice but so spicy.

Alwaysalwayscold · 16/04/2024 19:46

What flavour does everyone recommend in the soba noodles?

OperationalSupport · 16/04/2024 20:52

@Alwaysalwayscold the classic with the yellow lid or the katsu with the light brown lid are my favourites.

CheerfulBunny · 16/04/2024 20:56

I have a pot noodle once a year on average - to remind myself why I only have one once a year. I used to LOVE them as a kid. I've transferred my allegiance to the Chinese or korean ones in a flat packet now although it does involve a saucepan.

BettyBootsie · 16/04/2024 21:13

The chicken & mushroom one used to be much nicer before they changed the recipe about 15/20 years ago - the texture of the sauce even changed. I swear it was much better when I was at school

My favourite varieties are long gone - beef casserole (I think it was called) from the 80s, and also the chicken supreme Pot Rice which came in a light green pot. Do they even do any Pot Rice at all anymore?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 16/04/2024 21:19

I thought they'd gone rank ages ago they took all the taste out!

GordonRamsey · 16/04/2024 21:22

Oh no! That's me f*cked then.
What a week, first bl**ding squatters in me restaurant, now this. One of me signature dishes gone up the effing swanny.
Jesus, sodding football was easier than this cooking lark ffs and you only had to work a couple of days a week.

CeeJay81 · 16/04/2024 21:26

I recommend the teriyaki green soba noodles. They are sooo yummy 😋

In the Asian food section of my local Tesco they have a lot of the Chinese, Japanese and Korean noodles in pots, they are definitely far superior to pot noodles. My favourite is Mama tom yum noodles but they only come in a block to cook in a pan.

Pot Rice disappeared a few years ago unfortunately. I used to love the veggie curry one.
