Black bedroom carpet?

I fancy one in my bedroom but I've had conflicting reports from people saying either it's brilliant and go for it or that a black carpet is asking for trouble and will never stay clean for longer than five minutes.
Opinions please, Mumsnet.

It will show up any bit of fluff etc. Depends on how often you’re willing to get the bits off.
