Anyone else waiting to hear on primary school admissions tonight?

I am. Bit nervous, we are within decent distance of catchment area but I know the school is massively oversubscribed

second choice is nice but would require us driving there which isn’t ideal

anyone else?

anyone know what time we find out? Just says “evening” on my council website

My council website says 4pm onwards will be on the online application but and after 5pm email goes out. I’m really nervous too, I think we’re going to get our third choice which I’m feeling very unsure about.

In you are in the pan-London system (all London boroughs and Surrey) then it's 5pm

Widely believed to be done at that time so that people have to sleep on it before picking up the phone

Word of advice, no matter how disappointed/cross you are if you don't get a school you like, or even can put up with, do not reject it immediately If you do, then then you could be left with no school place at all in September. Accepting the offer you have makes no difference whatsoever to your chances on waiting lists for other schools

The pan-London timings have been the same for years, and it's in the FAQs

Edited to add: that system needs to email thousands and thousands of families, so it takes a while to get them all sent. They should all arrive that evening. But you can also look online if you really can't wait (just remember that there can be volume of traffic difficulties in accessing that at peak times too)

Feeling very nervous too, first time we're doing this. As we're London I'll stop checking emails and wait till my commute home.

Knowing it's not till at least 5 hasn't stopped me checking all day, it's driving me crazy. It's unlikely we'll get 1st choice but I'm ok with anything but our 6th. I'll be gutted for my girl if she doesn't get one of the 2 she wants, she's been so excited since I'm picked her up bless her.

Same here! It's not until 5pm here either but I'm refreshing like a mad person.

We’ve got third choice. Not feeling amazing about it not least because of a three week settling in period that seems to assume someone is just waiting at home and not working every day. Trying waiting list and hoping for best

My brother did the waiting list for my nephew and got their 1st choice in the end.

Kent area. We only get three choices to rank, others seem to maybe get more.

No email but the App was updated at 5. We got our 2nd choice which was expected and we're happy with. Hoping you're all happy with your offers.
