I'll have a look, I've only downloaded that app a week ago and with no interest in airplanes I'm obsessed!

Itsokish · 15/04/2024 18:09

It’s now heading in a different direction towards Geneva !

OMG they've been all over the place 11,000 feet at the moment, landing in 40 mins according to what it's telling me.

Chersfrozenface · 15/04/2024 18:14

I recall from explanations in similar cases that when planes have an emergency soon after take off they may have to burn off some fuel so as not to land overweight, so they go into a holding pattern for a bit.

It is oddly addictive.
I actually watched a plane crash on Flightradar a couple of years ago - a small 2-man plane in the US. Very odd feeling.

The arrival time shown is the original time it was supposed to land at London. The ETA after diversion isn't shown on FR.

@Chersfrozenface
Makes sense with the loop the loop they've been doing.

Itsokish · 15/04/2024 18:20

Think it’s going to land in Geneva . Yes makes sense burning of fuel.

Yes, Playback shows it reaching Geneva and taxiing. It won't be visible now because its transponder will be turned off.

Oh thanks I'm still working out how the app works.

I haven't been looking today, but wouldn't be surprised if there have been a fair few go around at Heathrow today. It's pretty blowy down here!
