Friend has moved out to the countryside, maybe a 6 hour journey to get there. They keep saying how lovely it would be for us to go and visit them.
So I said great. How about these dates? They said ok let me get back to you - no response.
Saw them over Easter and they said again they’d like us to visit them for a weekend. So sent a three weekends over the next 6 months that we could do. They said okay we’ll have a think and let you know, just waiting to hear back on some work plans.
It’s been two weeks and nothing. So we’ve become booked up with other plans on those dates, e.g. theatre, visiting family, dinner invites. We generally have every weekend booked up weeks or months in advanced.
Now they’ve come back and said they definitely can’t do in 2 weeks time (one of the proposed dates) … but they’ll reply about the other two weekends.
Should I ask if they actually want us to visit? Or should I just say sorry we are now booked up with plans, maybe another time, and give up.
