Phone addiction - how do I turn my Google Pixel into a 'dumb phone'?

Not sure where is best to post this.

I am embarrassed to admit it but I am addicted to my phone, the amount of hours I spend on it is shocking. My phone usage feeds into my OCD and anxiety, has a negative impact on my sleep and stops me from being present.

I have tried lots of things but have not been able to crack this habit, I have ADD which doesn't help.

I would really like to make it so that my phone has access to the camera, WhatsApp, messages, calls, maps, Fitbit and nothing else. No opportunity to browse the internet or access YouTube.

Does anyone know of an App that might allow me to do this? I specifically need an app that I can not just delete or get past because my will power is exceptionally low. I would also be happy to use a parental control app - husband would be happy to support this. I just need a method that I absolutely cannot control - ideally with the convenience of allowing the apps that help my everyday life.

I hear you ! Sorry no practical advice but I have a different phone (iPhone) and wish I didn't have any . I mind so much I'm tempted to get rid of it !

I suppose the only option you have would be to set a timer on the apps in settings, uninstall the apps and then 'forget' your password/email to redownload them or, the best option, would be to buy an older phone

On iPhone you can set up parental controls via the Screen Time settings, including blocking certain apps or time limiting others etc. These can be PIN controlled so your husband could set the PIN and not tell you- worth exploring if there’s anything similar in your settings?
