Does this work efficiently on trains? DD15 is claiming it doesn’t but we suspect she’s saying that so we won’t get her to join my circle.

yes it does
but you cant make her be tracked if she doesn't want to be

letsgoskiing · 15/04/2024 11:19

Yes it's fine.

Janetime · 15/04/2024 11:32

Yes it does.

of course it works on trains - ! so long as data is on, and she has allowed it to function, it works fine. I have my three kids in my circle on Life360. I like to know if they are en route home, or what. saves me doing worried mum messages.

letsgoskiing · 15/04/2024 12:25

Amusingly it reverts to driving, so I often see that my partner is "driving" down a train line at 120mph.........

Icarus40 · 15/04/2024 12:30

It works fine on trains!

idontlikealdi · 15/04/2024 12:33

It absolutely works fine on trains, as long as they have signal which most of the trains around here do not.

It's can be slow to update if they have battery saver or don't give the right permissions to the app.

At 15, assuming the parents are paying for her phone, I'd say they absolutely could make her.

My kids weren't thrilled at the prospect (14 & 15) but they were told that I pay for those phones and I want everyone to install this app. We've had it for almost a year now and the kids are fine with it and it's handy because they can see where I am too.

I don't use it to spy on them. I'm not overly interested where they are at every minute of every day but it is useful to check when it's approaching curfew time and I can see that they're on their way, or at a certain friends house and I know they're going to be a little late. Saves a lot of stress and lectures.

DD15 is quite vulnerable & in fact rarely travels on trains anyway but she had suggested taking the train to her GF’s as she wanted to go up for a few extra days. DH & I said she would need Life360 ( we should have organised it before really) & she then insisted it doesn’t work on trains!

It does! I have it and am very fond of it.

I have this, it's very good and very accurate, more so than find a friend on iPhone. You can change permissions to stop it tracking you, and when to be notified when people reach a certain destination etc.
Some people are a bit uptight about being tracked etc, but I'm not really bothered about being tracked as I have nothing to hide. Altho I do understand why some people wouldn't want it, particularly teenagers who don't necessarily want their parents seeing their every move!
