Am I missing something?

My mum has a printer, and she had a windows 10 desktop pc, printer was working fine. she then upgraded to a windows 11 laptop and now the printer isn't being detected at all no matter what I try.

Windows updates are all up to date.

Printer drivers installed

Checked the printer is compatible with windows 11 and it is according to google

Tried different usb slots

tried different cable

tried installation cd that came with printer and also the drivers from the canon website

I use a Mac so all this is new to me and I have never had a printer of my own, I'm not sure what else I can try?

Its a canon mp230 printer.

I do the entire set up and at the end it says to plug the printer into the computer then turn it on.. Then just says printer can't be detected.

Anyone have any ideas of what else I can try?

No clue, printers drive me round the bend. '
I'm relieved I'm not the only one expected to do all my dm's tech support though.

Op does the printer work wirelessly??? Check its connected to the internet/wifi. Mine used to to do this and it drove me nuts

Have you unistalled / unsynced the old pc? Sometimes they struggles to handle 2 devices at the same time

Also this ... I'm relieved I'm not the only one expected to do all my dm's tech support though. 😁😁
