Dental bridge - nervous! Front teeth

I have has a dental bridge for front teeth for last 27yrs!
My dentist has told me I need a replacement.

I'm very nervous because when I had mine done nearly 30yrs ago the temporary bridge looked horrific! Like horses teeth!!

I'm also scared of what the final result will look like. Will it be utterly secure? Will it be comfortable?

I'm looking for some reasurring stories please...

(I'm paying private. No idea how much this is going to be tho!)

Would you not just have your current bridge in until the new one arrives?

No they have to take old one out to make a new cast for the new one and the old one gets broken up as its removed.

Why does it need replacing if it’s still fitted and secure? I’d not mess with it tbh, can you get a second opinion?
Mine fell out after 13 years, the dentist re fitted it but it fell out again after a week so the dentist sent it to the lab to re etch it (or something) and they lost it! I had a gap for over a month. It was so distressing. The new bridge was then absolutely awful, it looked like it came from a joke shop, so I bit the bullet and got an implant at a different dentist. They have messed it up so now I still look awful, am in pain, but am too terrified to see another dentist to even begin to sort it out.
How will it get broken as they remove it? They pulled my second on off with no issue at all, it definitely didn’t break because they gave it back to me.

Sorry, not reassurance, I just wanted to say I totally understand your fears but I wouldn’t be happy to have my bridge removed if it wasn’t bothering me or causing me any issues, there shouldn’t be any need surely?

Ah ok, I have one at the side and was replaced recently and they just popped it off then back on while I waited for the new one to be made

It needs taking out because its 27yrs old and rotting as are my teeth underneath it.

My dentist told me I need a temp one for 2wks. She did say they will send old one away to match the colour?

It will be fine. I had a front tooth out and a temp denture whilst I had and implant it was fine no one can tell.

It's only two weeks. I had mine for 9 months!
