I going to be having a hunt for this tomorrow as it’s not where it should be, so please activate your psychic hats and tell me where it is!

I’ll check in tomorrow to update you as to whether your hats are functioning!

Thank you!

Two days before a big holiday I noticed my passport wasn't in its usual place... Just was I needed at 11pm. At 3am I finally found it down the side of the sofa, between the arm and the cushions...so I recommend checking the sofa asap!

SpringOfContentment · 14/04/2024 18:56

How old is he?
In his jeans back pocket, as he needed it for ID to go clubbing
With his birth certificate, as you used it for ID
With the child benifit stuff, as you used it for ID
im assuming not with yours behind where ever yours is - pull out the drawers, check the drawer below, behind and underneath.
In the scanner
Where do you think it was last used?

Littleleopardlady · 14/04/2024 18:57

You left it in a handbag you don't use very often when you had to have his ID

Durdledore · 14/04/2024 19:35

Thank you for the ideas so far. 👏

Depending on his age, has it been needed for nursery/school/college on enrolment or for a trip?

OrigamiOwls · 14/04/2024 19:41

Also - I think his age is key.
Is he 17 and possibly taken the passport himself as ID?
Or is he 3 and not able to reach the passport on a high shelf?

Whiskers4 · 14/04/2024 19:46

With your suitcases?

If he's a teenager, has he been on holiday with friends/school or took to uni? If so, he needs to get his thinking cap on now, probably buried in his room or any other dumping ground in the house.

Durdledore · 14/04/2024 19:49

He’s 15. He went off on holiday with a friend during half term and we don’t think it’s been needed since then. He remembers getting it out of his bag when he got back and putting it on my dressing table.

This has jogged my memory of this happening and of me thinking that I must put it back where it belongs before I lose track of it….and that’s the last I remember!

My guess is a sock drawer

UtterlyQuackers · 14/04/2024 19:53

It's fallen down behind the dressing table?

Sprogonthetyne · 14/04/2024 19:55

Side pocket of the bag he/you used for hand luggage last time you went on holiday.

Pineapplewaves · 14/04/2024 20:10

When and where did you enter your API details - you would have had the passport in your hand for that....?

EVHead · 14/04/2024 20:12

In your pants drawer? You put some laundry down on top of the passport and scooped it up and put it in a drawer?

SkaneTos · 14/04/2024 20:53

Like a previous poster wrote, perhaps behind the dressing table?

Did you see the passport on the dressing table?
Maybe your son thought "I'm going to put my passport on my parent's dressing table", but got distracted and never did put it there.

Or maybe the passport is...
Far back in a drawer?
In a sponge bag/toiletry bag?
Somewhere where you put important papers and documents?

I have found it!!

@Littleleopardlady - your psychic powers are the strongest today. It was indeed in a bag; long story.

Thank you to everyone who played along, it made the potential stress of a lost item into more of a fun game.
