It's my 2 boys birthday soon. One is 9 in a week the other is 8 start of May. I was gonna buy a basket ball hoop for the coming up 8 year old. But ex had bought ds coming up 9 one . For at his house. Now I'm not sure if there's any point in me getting one for ds who's coming up 8.

They are at their dad's every other weekend. Is it pointless having one at both homes.

If they like it then no, it’s not silly to have one at both homes. It’s so annoying when that happens and someone steals your thunder! Happens to me with my family all the time! Not on purpose, we just have the same ideas!

Sirzy · 14/04/2024 11:20

If they will play with it then I don’t see why it matters they have one at Dads too, it’s not like it’s something that could be easily moved between homes.

TheSnowyOwl · 14/04/2024 11:20

What about after school and the holidays?

Yes I'm not impressed really. He's the Disney dad to. So I feel like he's always ahead of me with fun stuff.

Did he know this was your planned gift?

WhiteLeopard · 14/04/2024 11:27

I think it's the kind of thing that is good to have at both homes.

Chamomileteaplease · 14/04/2024 11:28

Definitely good to have at both homes.

Smartiepants79 · 14/04/2024 11:29

Just buy a fancier one! 😆

He lives to far for after school. And he's working. He sometimes has them a few extra days in the longer holiday . Like over Easter He had them couple of extra days over the Bank Holiday. In the summer he's taking them away for 5 nights.

Why would it be silly to have one at both homes?

I wasn't sure . I'm thinking would the noverty run out fast if it's at both homes. Don't suppose it matters really

The noise of a basketball is quite annoying and can be a cause of neighbourhood disputes. Perhaps he has done you a favour on this one by lining himself up for any grief!

thereisaplacewhereIcango · 14/04/2024 12:00

They are dreadful things and you (and your neighbours) will soon tire of the noise so I would count my blessings that your kids get to have a basketball hoop but you don't have to listen to it!!

Mardge · 14/04/2024 12:07

Our neighbours have basket ball hoops. As well so I don't think it would be a problem. They can play with it in the grass as well so that would take the noise away a bit.
