I can't remember the last time I saw a sparrow. Last year I had loads of them visiting my bird feeders but its been months and not a single one.

There are tons where I live (Hertfordshire). They can be noisy little buggers when there are lots together! Very cute though, they like to roll around in the dust in the parking area outside my house which is funny to watch.

Loads in my hornbeam hedge and attacking my front windows!

In my hedge (rural, Warwickshire)

Not many here (South West London). My neighbour has an unruly hedge that they love but I guess people are opting for fences/ walls/ shrubs that don't suit them so they're moving on.

Nesting behind my guttering here, south coast.

Daisymay2 · 14/04/2024 09:54

They are in the hornbeam hedge outside mine and my neighbours houses. The rest are in my back garden, mobbing a magpie.
They cheep like mad whenever someone goes outside. Love them. Suffolk

I had a flock of around 20 in my garden last summer. Most disappeared during the winter and I was down to 5 or 6 but they're coming back.
I rarely see starlings but it turns out they all live the other side of the village. We watched the murmeration whilst on an evening walk earlier this week.

Very few sparrows in my garden ( north-west). Many magpies and pigeons! And crows ( or rooks?) quite often.

Lots here in Wales.

Cocolapew · 14/04/2024 10:03

Nesting in my eaves, one pops out and shouts at me any time I go out the back.

Soccermumamir · 14/04/2024 10:04

We have loads here visiting our garden. Plus 3 pigeons every day lol 😆

Good to know there are still some around! Absolutely none here in the south west. Loads of bastard seagulls though.
