What kind of credit score would be needed for a 50k mortgage?

Especially if unable to work due to disablity?

It’s less about the credit score and more about affordability. Can you afford to pay the mortgage back? You can find mortgage calculators online… input your income and it will give you a rough idea as to how much you can borrow.

Thanks.

It's saying around 350 a month and my rent is double that, so yes.

Sadly what you’re currently paying in rent is irrelevant to a mortgage lender. Lenders will have their own affordability checks based on their own specific criteria. If your income is from benefits you are probably best to see a broker, they will be able to tell you which lenders are most likely to lend to you.

OK. Thankyou.

I was hoping I would have a good chance as it's only 54k on a 180k house

You may well do, it’s impossible to say without knowing what your income/outgoings are. That’s the main thing a mortgage lender is interested in. Generally speaking, the max a company will lend you is 4.5x your annual income, however it also depends on any regular outgoings you have, where your income comes from etc.

Have a look at the Skipton track record mortgage, it might be suitable for you.
