I’m going to try and lay out the pros and cons- I know it’s easier said than done and more nuance but on the basis of the info below which would you choose?

Job A
30 hours a week
Really lovely team- friends with colleagues
All on site work but set shifts and childcare worked out around this
Limited progression
Salary 39k (WTE 50k)

Job B
37.5 hours a week, wfh fully, 2 days in office monthly
Flexible working- can fit around childcare
Opportunity for progression
? Less feeling of team (I’ve never wfh) but apparently a lovely organisation
Salary £65k

Both have same pension, sick and annual leave allowances.
Which would you choose?

The first, less hours more time to spend with family and actually enjoying life/ does progression mean less hours? Or more? The same ? Etc.

It would vary I suppose. But you don't want to work all your life away and 30+k a year is good no matter what hours. In my opinion.

B, no question. In almost all salaried part time roles you will end up doing all the work of a full-time, squished into fewer hours and be guilted about leaving etc

£26k for an extra 7.5 hours a week. Job B is paying a lot more. I'd go with that.

B definitely.

Has anyone worked full time wfh? Do you still feel part of a team? I worry I’ll be lonely.

If its 2 days a month in the office, I wouldn't be concerned about the wfh element. That would be enough to get to know the team.

What are you doing for £65
