Anytime get summertime anxiety?

I don’t know quite what it is, whether it’s leftover from the youth awkwardness/fomo or what. It’s all sunny and ‘happy’ and ‘everyone’ is out and about. I see groups of people and suddenly I feel more anxious and alone and very awkward. Anyone else?

Yes. Much prefer darker nights and shorter days and less people out and about x

User0311 · 13/04/2024 16:57

Yes I feel exactly the same

Yupppp · 13/04/2024 16:59

Yep. Give me dark at 5pm any day. But time has sped up lately so we’ll be back there before we know it 😊

Squirrelsnut · 13/04/2024 17:01

Me too. Although I do love summer in other ways.

I feel it more now as a parent. Because its sunny you should be out enjoying it, I hate the sun, the crowds, the smell, the pressure to be doing something or going somewhere.

Newsenmum · 13/04/2024 19:07

I get all this fomo despite not actually wanting to go and do other things 😂and the fact I feel like I should!

Yes. Spring/summer makes my anxiety so much worse.

Goldenphoenix · 13/04/2024 20:01

Yes I do.

I hate feeling too hot and the possibility of heatwaves fills me with dread. Hate the light evenings - I love cosy Winter evenings.

Never knew Summer anxiety was a thing and was relieved when I found out it was that and I wasn't just a grumpy curmudgeon.

Plus I am mega pale and spend the Summer trying not to burn! So not fun at all.

100% agree with you! I’m menopausal so struggle enough with being too hot and don’t need anymore heat😒
Also love the autumn & winter, I’m a November baby so that’s when I’m happiest.

Agree with everyone here

I suffer with seasonal affective disorder in autumn/winter. There is a spring version. I don't understand the science behind it but if you google spring SAD or reverse SAD you may find info

I hate it when its still light at 10pm

Its like the light is being intrusive
