Live traffic cams

What resources do people use for this please?

Sorry, I seem to be particularly bad at finding things that should be obvious.

I'm needing to look at North London around Barnet for traffic on Sunday night. We'd like to choose a better route than we did last time and it's getting harder to keep up with massive roadworks which often seem to be done on school holidays.

Thanks for any help.

Can you not use Google maps live traffic view or waze or similar?

GingerAle1 · 12/04/2024 22:04

I feel like a total idiot.
When I try that in Google, I choose "live traffic" on the layers, but it actually shows me a static shot. Do you have a link for what I should use please?

will look at waze now...

It's a map but the colours are showing you how ɓusy the roads are. Much easier to look at when you're driving than constantly checking cameras. I don't know anyone that uses a traffic camera to plan a route home avoiding congestion. A live map updating travel times is far more convenient surely?

Also use the website One Network for planned roadworks information.

Thank you, I have never used anything like this before so was confused. I thought of a live cam as something we'd look at before leaving the house, I wasn't planning to look at screens in the car.
Thank you, it makes a bit more sense now.
