Hidden twin, or something else?

Hello,

This ultrasound was done abdominally at 8+2. Sonographer said there was definitely the one. I’m wondering what the greyish area is above/on top of baby. It’s obviously within the sac 🤔 and looks the same size as baby.

Of course the sonographer is highly qualified, I’m sure she’d have said if she was concerned but I can’t find any other scan pics that look like this - in all of them the gestational sac is just dark with no greyness within.

Thoughts appreciated!

At 12 weeks the scan I saw clearly showed two prawns moving around. I'm really not sure here though

Is it placenta?
or maybe another organ overshadowing… if this is abdominal ultrasound?

It is abdominal. Wouldn’t have thought another organ can show in the sac though? But then again I don’t know very much about ultrasounds at all!

My sister thinks it might be my abdominal wall

At 8w my twins were clearly 2 little babies but some distance apart from each other.

If your scan showed twins you'd think those two blobs would be pretty obvious to a sonographer so I'd guess it isn't too.

I had a scan at 8 weeks and you could clearly see 2

I posted on another group I’m in and a sonographer replied to say it’s fine and it’s just fluid.

I think it's the yolk sac which feeds the fetus until the placenta is formed. It looks similar to my ivf scan at a similar gestation and that's what they said it was.
