10min dental hygenist appointment

17 yr old DD just back from the hygienist. She said teeth looked OK and removed a bit of plaque. Then a quick going over with a 'buzzing thing' (assume the polish bit). That was it. Total of 5mins actual care. When I go it's a good 20mins of scraping etc.

does this sound like a normal appointment for a kid of that age?

I guess your dd has cleaner teeth than you and fewer gaps etc. I always have lots of scraping due to excessive tea and coffee consumption and as I've got older my gums have receded a bit so there are more nooks and crannies.
