Have you bumped into a colleague on holiday before and was it awkward?

It transpires I will be on holiday in the same small resort at the exact time as a colleague. We are staying in the same hotel. We have kids of a similar age and have booked family suites which are all on the same floor..!

Is it completely ok to try and avoid him at all costs during the holiday?😂 He has mentioned getting the kids together one day. We get on ok but definitely not someone I socialise with or would want to hang out with (although his wife seems lovely).

Yep! Ended up stood in the shallows of a Center Parcs swimming pool, obvs in a swimsuit, chatting to someone from work. I really, really didn’t want to be there!

Oh gosh, I would bloody hate this. I want a holiday to be away from work and home life.

I'd avoid like the plague. I'd be polite of course and say a quick hello if I saw him but if he asked about meeting up I'd simply say "no sorry, we have made other plans, have a lovely time though!".

What an unfortunate coincidence - I feel for you OP
