Where do you buy your every day tops and t-shirts from?

I'm looking for good quality plain or simple patterned non flouncy cotton tops and t-shirts for every day wear that are a normal length. It shouldn't be a big ask but it seems to be asking the impossible at the moment. Either the material is so thin it's almost see through or the length isn't there or it's got frills and sequins on it.

If you've found the holy grail where did you buy them from please?

H&M. I have t-shirts 5-6 years old and still going strong.

Urban classics on Amazon - lots of colours and cotton. I have a few and they wash well.

Next, although I bought a few in primark recently and was surprised at how good the quality was.

Thanks for posting this. I've had similar frustrations with the added quest of wanting v neck or scoop neck. Most tshirts I've seen are round neck which make me look like I could tuck my boobs into my trouser waistband 😭

Uniqlo fans- how is the sizing? I'm normally a 14, should I go for large?

skibiditoilet · 12/04/2024 16:29

I’m embarrassed to say this but the Amazon tops are amazing. Good fit and stretchy. Great for layering.

Uniqlo and Cos. Quality so much better than most others for the price

uniqlo is great but the sizing is SMALL - go for bigger if you aren't sure.

Uniqlo lasts well and lots of choice for basics

CreateAUsername2024 · 12/04/2024 19:21

H&M or M&S always works for me :)

I've found Cotton Traders to be great for this sort of thing. Well worth a look.

Thanks

Rapanui (online) have t-shirt bundles. True to size and wash well.

Itsanothermanicmonday · 12/04/2024 21:28

Either Seasalt or Fatface have to order online as we have no shops locally.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 12/04/2024 22:29

Uniqlo has been around for years and its good quality, or it used to be as havent had to buy any new bits from there in years as they really last. primark has better stuff now and its made in turkey, a special range.

Bigcat25 · 12/04/2024 23:05

I got a couple llbean organic cotton tees, not bc of being organic but bc that's the cut I liked. Some of there styles might be a bit dopey but this was a great basic. Slightly thin maybe, but not too much and not cropped.

Ap42 · 12/04/2024 23:09

I've recently had a good old shop in trespass, they have some lovely quality (and pretty cheap) t shirts, good length too. I also like joules, tog 24 and mountain warehouse.

timtam23 · 13/04/2024 01:07

Lands End. In the sales or on a multi buy special offer they are very good value, 100% cotton, wash and wear well. I have some nice ones from last year both patterned and plain, v neck and round neck.

CHEESEY13 · 13/04/2024 01:21

Supermarket - Sainsbury. The t-shirts in the men's dept are better quality and cheaper than the neon/pastel and Barbie Pink tat in the women's dept.

This is the case almost everywhere: women's wear is inferior but costs much more than men's wear which is better quality. This is akin to the farce in the hairdressing sphere. I bet men's barbers don't dare try to pressure clients to purchase over-priced mousses, gels, shampoo, conditioners, post-conditioners for "menopause hair".......WTF?

I love these. Thanks

Uniqlo - not new but not everywhere if you live somewhere quite remote?

I don't find their sizing small but it is or inclusive. Only up to a 16 I'd say.
