Can anyone please help me find this book I read last year?

I think that it was set in the rustbelt of America. I’m vague on details but I think it was about a family who lived on their land/farm for generations and the Mayor wanted to sell the land to allow a dam to be built there. I think that it was written relatively recently. It may have had water in the title.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated because I’m not having much luck with Google.

TIA

Was it “the four winds” by Kirstin Hannah?

(although that has no dam. In fact, no water at all..).

sounds like the plot of 'yellowstone' TV series!

Cover the Bones, by Chris Hammer, is set in rural Australia and is a mystery but water rights are an important part of the plot.

Damnation Spring by Ash Davidson?

I'm sure I read a book by one of Harlan Coben, John Grisham, James Patterson or someone like that with that sort of storyline. Might have been more like about 5 years ago though?

Thanks all. It’s none of these but I’m very grateful for the replies and I want to read all of these now.

I think the Title was something like Sweetwater, Rustwater or Steelwater. It was possibly the name of the small town.

Also I think that it was set in Pennsylvania.

It's not recently written, but could it be Stillwater?
