Any dentists on here? 🙈 following on from my post yesterday.. Had some brown horrible smelling creamy stuff come off the socket when using a gauze 🤢 Site is slightly sore still but nothing paracetamol & ibuprofen won’t sort… also quite worried because I can’t make out a blood clot? I have a dentist appointment tomorrow so she can check me over. Thanks guys, been an anxious wreck since having it out 😢

I have been doing salt water rinses also.

@TwinklyRoseTurtle unsolicited advice that you have have only just admitted you are not qualified to give and the advice you gave was wrong

@RobinHumphries i never once said I was a dentist, I misread post and gave advice- don’t think unsolicited, but difference of opinions

Gosh lots of panickers on here who apparently have never seen a dental infection.

All four of my wisdom teeth sockets looked like this and were fine. It looked like a healing socket yesterday and it looks like a healing socket today. It's fine.

I've also had an infected socket that spread to my jaw bone because it was during lockdown and I couldn't get an appointment. The swelling and pain was unimaginable from day one. You'd know if it was infected.

Stop messing with it so much, you shouldn't have gauze on it, or be swishing with salt water too often. It's healing, let it do so!

Thank you! Only had gauze on it for about 10 seconds as I could smell something foul and just out of curiosity wanted to see if it would transfer onto gauze which it did. Only been swishing after meals as well, thank you for advice xx

Hello everyone went to dentist this morning & turns out I do have dry socket 🤢 luckily though I haven’t experienced the awful pain everyone talks about. She packed it with some brown tobacco looking stuff and said it’ll drop out itself in a few days. Absolutely starving and fed up 😣😣😣
