Looking to move, hate the town I’m in !

Have name changed for this as possibly outing.

My DS, DH and I have recently been very poorly. For many reasons I was unable to get a doctors appointment for any of us, and this has been the continuing trend for the last 5 years. Can’t get through to the surgery, when you can they send a link to the NHS website, website says they are too full and to call 111, 111 too busy to help , a+e too full to help etc etc etc.

I am LC with my own parents, they do not care about us at all. No siblings on either side. DH parents are ok, DS and DH have a good relationship with them and also live close by. We all live in the same town.

i have very few friends here, the ones I do have are unreliable and all hate the town we live in and are moving away.

there are numerous new estates being built around us but no new roads so the traffic is a complete joke. The crime rate has also shot way up.

We both hate our jobs and my DS isn’t keen on his school (he’s 10).

i am completely and utterly fed up. I have said to DH that we need to move. He’s a bit more reluctant than I am for the risks involved and says elsewhere is more expensive and could be just as bad but I just can’t do this anymore. I’m in Kent. Apart from completely emigrating is there any town/county in England that’s good?? Where the people are friendly and where it’s not too congested with traffic, the crime is low and not too expensive or am I looking for something that doesn’t exist??

Apologies for the rambling, I’m just feeling so “done” tonight!

Worcester - small, very friendly city with relatively affordable housing. Trains to Birmingham for work opps. Or pershore, a bit further along which is a georgian town - very pretty and community minded.

I agree with PP about Worcester being an ideal place to live. I work there but live in Birmingham, but Worcester is lovely and I have often discussed with DP and DD about moving there.

I’ve sent you a message because although I don’t want to disclose my location. My local town sounds like it would suit you.

Thanks all. I will take a look at Worcester. I literally feel like closing my eyes, circling my finger above a map and bringing it down to anywhere, although I realise this isn’t very sensible! The only tie we have here is DH’s parents, but we don’t see them every week so don’t see why we couldn’t regularly visit. I just feel like have to get out of here before it’s too late, everyone around us in this town is unhappy and moaning!
