My dc wants a private plate but wants it printed in this format. Is this allowed?

AMY- 21- 03
I thought it had to be
AMY-2103

I haven't the foggiest how it all works.

You'd need to find a dodgy place to do it, harder now they're supposed to put their name on it. She also may well be stopped and get points on her licence. Best to get id done properly Id say

Ok so I'm right in what I'm thinking re the format. She doesn't want to get in trouble. Shes just looking at the moment

A 3x4 like that would be an NI plate and would be displayed as ABC 1234. I’m not sure that AMY plates were ever issued though, maybe?

It’s a piece of cake to get a mis-spaced plate made online. No points for getting caught either.

Has she actually checked how much the plate will cost/if its available? Most of them with actual names in are fairly pricey especially if the name is first. For example NH23 SAM will be cheaper than SAM 1234.

Also the spacing really depends if you are bothered about breaking the law or not.

Plates have to be in a set format and font for the numberplate recognition cameras. She could get one printed in a different format but would run the risk of being stopped by the police and issued with a penalty notice to get it changed.

I speak from experience.
