Apparently a worldwide outage. Amazon haven’t put out a statement yet but it’s all over Twitter. My Echo has been unresponsive for about an hour now.

Ah so that's why she's ignoring me.

Mine came back on about 5 minutes ago. Good job because I’m disabled and use it for loads of practical things.

@Gilead glad you’re back on. Mine still not working but at least we don’t have it connected to lights etc.

Yep, lights, emergency numbers if I fall etc.
I do have backup but for ease and convenience obviously Alexa is easier.

AHH, I thought I was going mad. It would light up like it was listening, but refuse to obey any commands. I was shouting at the bloody thing for ages to turn the radio off, had to unplug it in the end!

Mine played Rocket Man at my request about an hour ago so I think we are all good here

RagzRebooted · 09/04/2024 23:43

I was able to turn lights off with the app on my phone, but no voice commands. I suppose I could have used the actual light switch...

Ah! So that's why she got bolshy when I wanted her to continue reading my book.
I decided to listen to some pod casts through pod bean instead.
I've been listening to my book again for about a 1/2 hour now.
