Hotels near Camden?

Can anyone suggest a hotel within (ideally) walking distance of the bars/restaurants around Camden?

DH and I go up to London a couple of times a year but usually only for one night and we stay around Stratford and get the tube in.

DH really wants a couple of nights in Camden for his birthday just exploring and having a few drinks. But I've looked for hotels online and not much is coming up? I'm looking at July before the kids break up, and we'd prefer not to do an air bnb. We've used them before but a couple of dodgy ones have put me off if I'm honest.

I don't have a huge budget (approx £250 a night which I could try and increase) but I'm struggling to find any at all!

Nearest I can think of are by Lords cricket ground, about 10 minutes away on the 274 bus.

There is a holiday inn in Camden opposite triyoga if you really want to stay in London but I don't think there's enough there to spend multiple days browsing Camden. I'd probably rather stay Shoreditch way and go to Camden for half a day

Meant to say stay in Camden! Not London 😂 obviously you want to stay in London

@bryceQ 😂 I knew what you meant.

Daytimes we have other stuff to do elsewhere, we don't mind travelling around a bit. It's more the evening wanting to get ready and then just walk to wherever we're going and walk back at the end of the night.

I'll have a look at the holiday inn though, thank you!

I’ve never stayed here overnight but been for drinks and seems nice enough. Right by Chalk Farm station so only a few minutes walk into Camden.

Maybe look at hotels in Kings X? I wouldn't go to Lord's (at this time of year 🏏!)

There's a travel lodge in Archway.

BlondeFool · 08/04/2024 20:39

Actually I think it's a Premier Inn.

Clicheinaqashqai · 08/04/2024 20:40

We stayed at the Premier Inn Hub in Camden and it was great. Very new, super quiet despite being right on the high street, much bigger room than expected (corner) and nice enough breakfast. Much cheaper and possibly less fancy than what you were thinking, but it was great for DH and I after a day festival in Finsbury Park last year and if you will spend most of your time out and about.

So this is very under your budget but its a super cute little place on york way actually very quiet and comfy https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/newmarket-house.en-gb.html

Its a 15 -20 min walk into camden along a very safe residential area so no problems walking back at night and its on the 274 bus route. Youre also very close to KX so can easily get anywhere in London.

If not look at the KX premier inn hub. Its very nice and KX is easily walking distance to camden.

Also pp beat me to it but camden enterprise hotel is nice.

I think there is a Marriott near Regent’s Park. Walkable from Camden and much nicer.

Davros · 08/04/2024 22:48

It's called Marriott Regents Park but it's actually right in the middle if Swiss Cottage. It's a nice hotel but I think some of the other suggestions would be better
