Switching devices after renting a film on Prime

Just rented a film on prime on my tv, feel knackered and would like to finish watching it on my iPad in bed.. but it's only on my iPad app as an option to rent

Surely I've paid for it and can watch it on my iPad instead?

Are you signed into your Amazon account on your iPad, you are able to watch a rented movie on any of your devices so it should work.

Alternatively try closing the app and opening it again on your iPad, it's maybe not refreshed to show you have rented it yet

I've tried these things and it isn't working

I will try signing out and back in maybe

Do you think I'd get charged twice if I try to "rent" it again? I'm definitely on the same account it's coming up as a "continue watching" but I can't without renting it again 🤦🏻‍♀️

Are you the main Prime account holder or a family prime member , because it may be the main account holder has to log into the account on your iPad if you are the family member. DH is a family member and when he wanted a film I bought it or he may have had difficulty watching it.

Do you have a partner and you maybe rented it on their account? Maybe the default on the tv is different to your iPad.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 08/04/2024 20:19

Is there not a "my stuff" section in your account that might have it there?

BobnLen · 08/04/2024 20:21

Prime is definitely a bit odd if there are two of you on the account when it comes to renting and buying films, are you the only Prime member in your household.

RedRobyn2021 · 08/04/2024 20:26

No the main account holder is my partner who is away on a work trip 🤦🏻‍♀️ I've just logged into the account with his details on my iPad but it's sent a code to him now and he's not answered his phone

How disappointing

Why do Prime do this???

Oh no, that's not good.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 08/04/2024 20:42

Jeez that is annoying. Prime are frustrating me right now with the adverts even though we pay a subscription...
I'll likely cancel for that reason alone
