Just a post out of curiosity. I very much think costs have soared but then again I wasn’t at this life stage in 2015 so can’t say whether or not it was comparatively just as hard then.
Expecting our first baby and nursery waiting lists are in some case 2.5 years long. Searching for a house to buy but deterred by current rates. It feels more difficult than it needs to be.
I see people arguing on here that things have always been hard and expensive for people irrespective of what year they’re in. I think the problem now is that all the costs are hitting people at once: interest rates high which cripple you if you fixed 5 years ago at 2%, as well as nursery fees, supermarket prices, utility bills and well just about everything.
Was it like this before or does it get harder for families year on year?
