Nurse in a children's hospital. Git a phone call yesterday from a bloke going on about his mum putting him in nappies and was this ok. Etc. kept asking if they looked like pampers. I reported it to the site matron incase another ward got the same thing. Another ward also got the same call.
Is this a fetish thing or some kind of kink?

Our Trust has had these calls too, we've been asked to report to our IT department

It's a fetish thing. And ringing a children's hospital about it shows how distorted his boundaries are. But apparently we're not meant to kink shame.

ontheflighttosingapore · 08/04/2024 14:13

Yes it is. I put an advert In a shop window once advertising my nanny services and had calls from men asking if I would change their nappies. Gross.

Aria999 · 08/04/2024 14:15

Oh goodness we had an abusive caller like this when I used to work for nightline at university about 25 years ago. Might even be the same guy, our experience was that there was a relatively small group of these people who called all the nightlines and some other organizations too (samaritans get them for example).

He must have phoned switch and asked to be put through to a children's ward. As we don't have a direct number. The site Matron laughed when I told her about it. Until another ward got one. Wondering who else also got one. It's grim.

Yuk. Pervy men dragging children and nurses into their wank fantasies. But yes, we mustn’t kink shame or call them filthy bastards.

Since when can't we kink shame? I thought it was still socially acceptable to mock the the nappy fetishists at least!. If I'm going to get cancelled now for calling a bloke in pampers a weirdo then what's the point of it all?

Next you'll be telling me I can't point and laugh at furries!

PastorCarrBonarra · 08/04/2024 16:57

I volunteered for the Samaritans years ago. We got these sorts of calls although I don’t recall the details. Thankfully I received very few. They are unsettling.

Nope. If you ever mention that grown men enjoying shitting in a nappy or dressing up as an animal is just plain weird you will get told off.

SevenSeasOfRhye · 08/04/2024 17:52

Yep, well known fetish, toddler. You sometimes see troll posts here based on this fetish.

hoarahloux · 08/04/2024 18:06

It's not okay to kink shame when they're not hurting anyone.

This is sexual harassment and absolutely okay to shame. Involving someone in your kink without consent is fucked up.

Mamette · 08/04/2024 18:11

To be fair, if they’re not involving other people then we wouldn’t know about it and shaming them wouldn’t be an option.

Anyway, I couldn’t care less about being told off. Fucking sickos. Taking a nurse’s time away from caring for kids for your own gratification.

I'm also in healthcare

Had some nutter phone up asking about STI guidelines , saying he's a specialist Dr in the field bla bla but clearly wasn't

When I let him know I'm in a high security prison where all calls are recorded and traced , he soon put the phone down

CapitanSandy · 08/04/2024 19:07

I’ve had this working on a helpline a few years ago. Grim. Hope you’re okay

Andthereyougo · 08/04/2024 19:18

Has anyone ever heard or know of a woman behaving like this? Is it always men?

weebarra · 08/04/2024 19:50

Yes, I volunteered for nightline at university and got similar. Yuck!
