Dla renewal not done?

I sent my sons dla renewal form back and it hasn’t been done on time (it ends today) what happens now as can’t get through to them just repeatedly says call failed? Why wouldn’t it be done on time I sent it back about 6 weeks ago which I heard was fine as they usually do them towards the end of the award anyway.

There is a huge huge backlog at the DWP for DLA. Did you not get the forms several months in advance? They usually arrive about 6 months ahead of renewal.
Unfortunately you will have to keep trying to ring (try first thing literally as their line opens) to see if it has been processed. It may stop in the meantime but should be backdated if it is renewed successfully (from memory... my DS is older and on PIP now )

Thank you I got through in the end all sorted they said it will be treated as a renewal as I sent it in on time so they will not stop it.

My sons pip was delayed for months. So don't worry about it. They won't stop the payment.
My sons was due last year for renewal. Which I did. They requested a phone call consultation in February. Its only today I received the letter it be re looked at in 2028

I sent my daughter's forms back in mid February last year for a late May renewal. When the renewal date came and went, I called (on hold for over an hour) and they renewed it there and then, pretty much. I don't think anyone even looked at the forms as it was renewed at the same level but only for 18 months. My daughter is a wheelchair user and is never going to walk!

It's not been looked at yet so they couldn't do it on the phone it's not with a decision maker, however just checked my account and have been paid a random amount by dla so what do that mean? Looks like back on the phone tomorrow 😫 she told me it wouldn't be stopped as I sent it back on time and told me to wait till around June.

Hi, hope your well! Did you get a response from them? Interested to know as I’ve sent my sons renewal off before the renewal date but only by around 4 weeks as I completely forgot and thought his award ran out in August not May! So very nervous and super worried. He has been diagnosed with autism since the original award and I sent back his autism assessment and outcome paperwork which was quite lengthy and explained a lot so I didn’t write as much as I did for the first time round and now im worried I didn’t write enough! I’m also unsure if payments will stop did yours stop in the end until a decision is reached ? Thank you xx

Hi, do you mind me asking what happened in the end with your renewal? Our award is due to end in 2 days. I did tracked delivery so I know the form got there but only 8 days ago 😥we’ve had a lot going on so I did send an explanation for why it had taken me so long to return. I’m just panicking they won’t have time to look at and won’t be very sympathetic as I’ve only returned it just over a week before it ends 😫thanks in advance

I had this towards the end of last year, completed the form but forgot to send it back! I did eventually send it next day delivery and a week later it was all sorted 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s a complete lottery I’m absolutely sure of it. I’ve never chase or called them, it is what it is .. I have far too many things to juggle ! I hope it’s sorted soon x
